All of which changed precisely because women banded together and did exactly what you are going to do. One such group even pressured Congress into starting up a bonafide, well-funded program that has made a real difference…..It was during those crazy mixed-up Clinton years when budgets for things like killer jetfighters/rocketlaunchers were sinking…..As a result, the program was set up under the auspices of, get this, ‘The Dept of Defense’.
I remember that episode of This American Life! I’m always making references to This life with “This one story I heard on the radio…” Anyways, definitely a good cause, there’s a good deal of shows about small/rare diseases like that.
